- Synopsis
- A disgraced Boston policewoman is transplanted to Maine via an embarrassing police blunder, where her family and her career are tested by a local murder and her looming past.
  
  Gale Petrie is on probation from her job on the police force and has returned to her hometown of Balis Island, ME . While awaiting the outcome of her career, she also tries to put together the pieces of her failing marriage and her re-connect with her children.
  
  Trouble comes however when a member of an environmentalist group is murdered. The local police believe they already know who committed the crime, but Gale is not convinced. Against the wishes of the local police, she begins to dig into the case.
  
  She has to decide between tracking down the real murderer or protect her job by staying out of the investigation. All the while trying to keep her family together.
