- In California's Mojave Desert, the US Army has built a "virtual Iraq" - a billion dollar urban warfare simulation - and populated it with hundreds of role-players, both military personnel and transplanted Iraqis. What starts as a virtual game becomes a deadly serious challenge where all realize that within a matter of weeks, one false move could be the difference between life and death. Surreal, poignant and even hilarious, the film provides a revelatory look at the soul of the American war machine. The London Times calls the film “Utterly Stunning.” The film just had its US premiere at SXSW, where it won the Special Jury Prize. The Film Forum in NYC has booked the film for its US Theatrical premiere in July 2008, so clearly exhibitors are responding positively to it.
