    • Whether in the middle of a scorching house re or vertical on a frozen mountain wall, Pedro Cifuentes’ relationship with life and death is fascinating to say the least. After experiencing tragedies rst hand, like the 2004 Al-Qaeda Madrid train bombing, he seeks, in the conquest of mountain peaks, to rise above appearances and contingencies. To be the rst person to cross the impregnable wall of the FITZ ROY alone, would mean crowning the impossible—a feat that many of the best mountaineers in the world denounce as crazy. His friends and family try to understand how, in the hard and painful road that leads to the top, Pedro is searching for his own way of living and dealing with the world.
