- Synopsis
- Vanessa Lutz (Reese Witherspoon) is a teenage juvenile delinquent living with her prostitute mother, and perverted Step father. After the pair is arrested for a mix of solicitation, and drug possession, Vanessa decides to go live with her grandmother. While driving on the freeway her car breaks down, what she initially thinks is a stroke of good luck, soon turns into a nightmare as she is picked up by Bob Wolverton (Kiefer Sutherland). Bob initially strikes her as a very friendly, and generous man, but is soon revealed that he is in fact a dangerous serial killer. After disfiguring him in self defense Vanessa is sent to prison due to lack of evidence against Bob. Now in prison, she must find a way to escape and clear her name!
