- Synopsis
- Born as a free man, Luiz Gama was still sold, as a child, as a slave by his own father. He suffered all the horrors of slavery in one's own skin as an example, with only eight years old had to walk for over 170 km, from the Port of Santos to Campinas, chained by the feet. Even so, he was able to become literate, to study and to become a lawyer. He freed himself and became a great law specialist, journalist and poet, dedicating all his time and knowledge in the struggle for freedom of others like him - risking his life, his family and his own happiness.
