    • Synopsis
    • In Lopera, a small village in Jaén, the promise
of ecological transition is turning into a
      nightmare. Centuries-old olive groves,
witnesses to generations of farmers, are being
uprooted to make way for mega photovoltaic
plants, in an unequal struggle between large
corporations and a community that refuses to
      be displaced. Through direct testimonies,
striking images and an in-depth analysis of
the current energy model, ‘Forced renewables’
reveals how progress, without planning and
without respect for rural life, can become an
      unprecedented ecological, social and
      economic disaster.
