- The outlaw Jasper Mudd kills a marshal and takes his identity, wandering off into the high desert to reunite with the rest of his gang and divvy up the loot from their most recent robbery. When a Pinkerton hired to track down the stolen bounty stumbles upon the body of deceased marshal, Jasper's path to a new life becomes a fight for survival. As Jasper continues to thwart his attempts at capture, the Pinkerton's pursuit becomes a personal obsession to bring the outlaw to justice. Neither can be free until the other is dead.
