    • Synopsis
    • As a little girl, Veronica (Abigail Breslin) tragically loses her parents and is taken in by William (Wes Bentley), who admires her mental toughness and wants to train her for a job. What kind of job? He won’t say, but he reveals that he volunteered to train her because a very bad man killed his wife and child.
Years later, Veronica and her handler have forged a unique bond. William is training her to take on a group of boys who he believes are responsible for the abduction and murder of several local girls. Their leader, Jamison (Alexander Ludwig), picks the victims. They lure young women into the woods, and give them a three-minute head start. When the time is up, Jamison, Nelson, Danny and Shane (Cameron Bright) hunt them down and kill them.
William knows their modus operandi and trains Veronica intensively to turn the tables on the boys. He takes her to the woods, where she familiarizes herself with the terrain. He coaches her in hand-to-hand combat. He even drugs her with a special concoction that reveals her deepest fears. Facing her fears will make it easier to face the boys. One night, William takes her to the diner where the boys hang out. A single glance at this entitled, misogynist gang and Veronica is ready to spring the trap. But William warns her that, unlike in the past, she will be on her own for this mission.
The following night, she sits in Jamison’s favorite booth in the diner...and waits. Sure enough, he shows up and is drawn to her immediately. They arrange a date for Saturday night.
She meets the gang outside the diner and together they drive to the woods, where they party and Veronica supplies each boy with a flask of liquor. Little do they know that she has spiked each flask with William’s special concoction. An innocent game of truth or dare culminates in the boys daring Veronica...to die. They give her a three-minute head start, and the hunt begins.
Soon, the boys fall under the influence of the drug, and Veronica takes advantage. She finishes them one by one, leading to a showdown with the alpha male: Jamison. Jamison proves to be more cunning and more vicious than his friends, putting Veronica’s training to the ultimate test.
