- Synopsis
- In 1896, Masajiro welcomes a long-awaited baby boy, Kenji, who later becomes beloved novelist and poet in Japanese literature. As him being the eldest son, Masajiro wishes Kenji to succeed his job, but he refuses this for any suitable reason and goes his own way: farming, artificial jewelry, and religion. Masajiro tries to be a strict father but ends up being supportive for Kenji’s own good.
