    • Synopsis
    • “Fat, bald, short man” is a dark humored animated movie telling the story of Antonio Farfán, a 46 year old lonely man working in a Notary’s office, rejected by his colleagues, who has always believed that his personal and professional failure is because he is bald, fat and short. However, someday a new notary arrives, Mister Enriquez, a shorter, balder and fatter man that, unlike Antonio, has a successful career and earns people’s respect pretty easily.
After seeing this, Antonio realizes that his existential failure is not because of his looks and begins reproaching himself the kind of life he has lived so far. He now desperately tries to find out the reasons behind his failure and constant defeats and concentrates on this task obsessively. He looks at the world over and over again and concludes that people cannot be happy as their lives are mostly unfortunate and undesirable. Hence, they all have to be pretending.
One day, by chance, he meets Pedro, his neighbor, a senile eighty year old man with severe heart problems. Antonio takes care of the elderly man treating him as an old friend just to test his recently discovered idea. As time goes by, Antonio discovers the importance of pretending, so he uses this knowledge to make various social experiments: joining a self-improvement group, exercising the Canadian army routine, and many other things. Doing all this allows him to make some apparent progress in his life though he still feels as sad and stressed out inside as before.
A complex series of events make him face his fears and complexes. Antonio, a man with short height, baldness and overweight, now turned into some kind of urban hero, will fight against the banalities of the world, changing his everyday life into a parallel reality in which every little action becomes a heroic deed.
