    • Synopsis
    • The Kelly is a family of high social expectations. Juan Kelly, the father is a direct descendent of European, and Marta Arteaga, the mother belongs to embers of a vague royalty, but she is always proud of her status.

      Juan is not so smart but he loves his family and let some things go because of his weakness and resistance to change. Things don’t go on wheels. Marta has seen how her husband fails time and time again in the jobs that her father gets for him and how her personal situation and the one of her children deteriorate day to day.

      In key of a black comedy, this is the story of the summer that the Kelly were locked in their home pretending they were in Brazil, in the presence of the impossibility of having the summer they used to have in some resort of Central America. The purpose is to keep up appearances. But then will emerge the intruder figure of Susana, the neighbour, who suspects that everything is just a farce and she wants to unmask the Kelly at the first opportunity that she has. Afraid of this threat, Marta will be force to impose absurd rules to her family and will transform the seclusion in a claustrophobic and mad situation, revealing the real personality of the characters that will struggle to finish it unhurt, although to Marta it means to continue with the lie to the last consequences and for the rest it just finish with the comedy before everybody gets crazy.

      Unexpectedly, the breaking down of the situation will reveal as a simple mirror of the real family breakup that the Kelly lives, exacerbating their old differences more than creating new ones, absorbed until now in a world of class responsibilities where the seeking of success overshadows the pursuit of real happiness. Nevertheless, in the end and in unexpected way, the Kelly will find themselves, joining in a new way that will promise them a bright and unblemished future.
