- Synopsis
- “Fade To Black” - is an ongoing documentary film series about the history of African-American Film. It features as host, actor, singer, stage and screen star Clarke Peters star of the hit HBO series “The Wire”, and Treme. Peters is also the creator and star of the Broadway hit "5 Guys Named Moe" and the one-man show "Unforgettable, The Story of Nat King Cole" and many films (Marley and Me, Mona Lisa, K-PAX, etc.)
  Each complete film in the series is shown between an introductory section and followed by a panel discussion. The discussion format emphasizes events in the world at the time the film was made, thus bringing together Black History, politics and film making. Films documented include, “Emperor Jones” (1932) starring Paul Robeson, “The Duke is Tops” (1938) Musical, Starring Lena Horne, In Lena Horne’s debut ,The Jackie Robinson Story” (1950) starring Jackie Robinson, “The Joe Louis Story” (1953), “The River Niger” (1976), starring CicelyTyson, James Earl Jones, Louis Gossett Jr. and Glynn Turman, “It’s Good to Be Alive” (1974),and – “Look Out Sister” 1947 Starring Louis Jordan
