- Synopsis
- As he is dying, Julia promises her brother Jimmy that she will live a life full of adventure, full of excitement and memorable moments. Twenty years on, it seems as if nothing is left of this promise: she has a boring job, a terraced house, 2 kids and a decent husband who tries to bring order to the house with schedules and charts. But it is not too late to make up for lost time. On the anniversary of Jimmy’s death, after a big row with her husband, Julia decides to make a radical change in her life. She puts her family on hold, leaves for the Algarve, makes new friends and sorts herself out with a brand new body through plastic surgery. But in time she discovers that a new place and a new body are not the magic bullet and that running away does not automatically mean you find happiness. When she embarks on an affair with mysterious gigolo Romeo, Julia’s past is closer to her than ever. She comes to realise that if she wants to be truly free, she will have to deal with the secret she has carried with her since her brother’s death.
