    • Synopsis
    • Emma (25) wishes she could just erase the fact that she once shot pornography. She’d had absolutely no idea that the impulsive decision she made all those years ago would change her life forever. The joys of easy money were soon replaced by disappointment, the boyfriend who got her into it had promised more. She lost friends, and her already teetering relationship with her mother went over the edge. She moved to a new town and got a job in a supermarket. And then she met Tomáš (30). He hadn’t had a lot of luck in life either, never having found a relationship that could withstand his explosive character and tendency to resolve conflicts with his fists. He has a good job, that’s the only thing keeping his head above water. He and his friend, Igor, who lives nearby in the village, are roofers. For both Emma and Tomáš their coincidental encounter is like two missing puzzle pieces coming together. The passionate Emma and impulsive but introverted Tomáš fall in love. But Emma’s past inevitably catches up with them. Despite his conviction that the past is not important, Tomáš cannot bear the truth, and he breaks up with Emma. They each grapple with their return to loneliness in different ways, with Tomáš turning to alcohol and Emma seeking any relationship that will help her forget. But Tomáš’s love for Emma is stronger than even he can admit, and he gradually overcomes the humiliation he feels, mainly from those around him. He decides to make the first move, and he manages to persuade Emma that the only way to get beyond the past is to be together.
