  Florence is a young and motivated elementary school teacher with a class of final years, one of whom happens to be her son. While she works diligently to push her students to success in the classroom, she struggles to manage the pressures of raising her son alone at home. Florence's life is turned upside down by the arrival of a new student, who has been abandoned by his mother, and also by her own son who suddenly demands to live with his father. Florence has a tough year ahead, but must find a way to manage it all, while also leading her class towards a brighter future.
