    • Synopsis
    • The chronicle of Santiago de Chile’s most unusual (and immortal) band, from 1982 - under dictatorship - until today, transformed into a elegant commentary on community, secrecy and innovation. The film begins, inevitably, with police repression and beatings. There is just no other way to understand what’s crucial to an underground movement, to a secret punk society that’s at times brutal and despotic. In that sense, a work on the coldest, artiest and most modern trio of Chilean new wave becomes a commentary on the moment and the context. Comic book artists, photographers, managers and myriad bandmates (they had dozens of line-ups) gather to make history, from the era of Pinochet Boys and Primeros Auxilios (punks and popsters from 1984-1985) and new wave in a military landscape, until today. Electrodomésticos: El Frío Misterio is a visually emphatic and colorful film, interspersing images of riots and Pinochet on TV with 80's glacial Chilean pop. The story, unknown in Spain, is that of a unique and dedicated band (all rehearsals recorded!) that deserves high praise and recognition.
