    • February 1848. Alexandre Dumas and Auguste Maquet are working together. Maquet does all the research and ground work but Dumas puts his name on the finished work. For the last ten years, Maquet has been the ghostwriting in the shadow of a great man. When the revolution of 1848 breaks out, Maquet rebels and refuses to grant Dumas the paternity of d'Artagnan and Monte Cristo.
