    • Synopsis
    • In the rugged river landscapes of northern Portugal, João, an introverted 12-year-old boy, lives alone with his fisherman father António. João spends his days sneaking into the house next door finding comfort in the caress of three women-Teresa and his teenage daughters Paola and Liliana. Together all five seem like one dysfunctional family sustained by an abusive relationship that persists between Antonio and Teresa. But João’s fear of António hints at some forms of abuse that were also present in their lives.
