It is a story about his craving for acceptance, overcoming obstacles, tremendous triumphs and bitter defeats in the life of Germany’s biggest producer. The documentary sheds light on the discrepancy between the public image and Bernd Eichinger the man, his all-consuming passion for filmmaking and his inner conflicts that drove him. It is a non-embellishing retrospect of people close to him, recounting the life of a man who loved to polarize, a force of nature and an artist, who indulged in all facets of moviemaking, from popcorn fare to sophisticated master pieces.
