- Synopsis
- Shuichi Sonoda works in the editorial department of a small publishing company and lives together with his girlfriend Rina Kiyokawa. Shuichi dreams of becoming a novelist, but he is so busy with his daily work that he has given up on his dream. Rina had been fired from several part-time jobs due to her shy personality, and was now unemployed and dependent on Shuichi.One day, Shuichi meets Kyoko Aizawa, a senior in high school and an editor at a major publishing company. While talking with her about the past, Shuichi lies to her that he is still writing novels, and within a short period of one month, he is entered into a contest for a newcomer award at her publishing company.In the meantime, Shuichi's colleague at his publishing company, Moriwaki, quits the company without permission because he can't stand being harassed. Shuichi takes over the assignment of Yoichi Nishikawa, a successful commentator who had been assigned by Moriwaki, but Nishikawa is proceeding in a way that makes the editor write the entire manuscript. Shuichi is confused and begins to feel impatient as he has no time to write his novel.One day, Rina catches Nishikawa's eye and starts working at the publishing company with Shuichi. Shuichi becomes jealous of Nishikawa and everyone at the publishing company, and his attitude toward Rina becomes increasingly cold and they fight constantly.
