    • Naples, 1991
      Emidio Tagliavini is the son of a Neapolitan emigrant who died in Cuba fighting at Fidel’s side during the revolution.
      In Castro’s honour, he established a Real Socialism regime in his family, writing to Fidel each month and receiving eager answers from him. Now that the world communism is crumbling, winds of change are blowing also in Emidio’s household.
      Yet, not withstanding gloom and doom, Fidel and Cuba endure the fall of the Soviet Union and, fifteen years later, the Tavaglini’s family is still dealing with the rationalising of essential goods. Only the wife’s death will make Emidio’s lunacy evident, revealing decades of loving lies.

    • The “Querido Fidel” project is a clear example of how Europe and Latin America can work in synergy to create, develop, co-produce and distribute audio-visual contents in both territories. The entry of Italy in the Ibermedia program will undoubtedly strengthen this collaboration and will contribute to address challenges and changes in the contemporary film industry. In this regard, the two producers, TeleAut Productions (Italy) and Cayeye Films (Colombia), agreed to combine their efforts towards the common goal of carrying out this project. The intention is to deal jointly with all the phases for the realization and circulation of this feature film, from development to promotion and distribution, creating bridges and synergies between the two continents.
      The project was selected at the BAM – Bogotà Audiovisual Market 2017; it partecipated in the 2nd Italy-Spain co-production forum in the framework of
      the Italian Film Festival in Madrid, 2016; it was selected at the Euroforum, SantaCruz de Tenerife co-production Forum, 2016.
      It enjoys the support of the Campania Film Commission. It was admitted to the contribution for films’ production of Campania Region (ref. Burc no. 55, 10 July 2017, Campania Region). Currently seeking sponsorship and product placement to finalize the financing phase. Among the various strengths of “Querido Fidel”, it's important to mention the experienced and internationally recognized cast that includes, for instance, Gianfelice Imparato - featuring Emidio, the main character - an actor who took part in about twenty prominent feature films including the renowned “Gomorra” and “Il Divo”.
      The “Querido Fidel” project it is backed by the participation of Clap Studios, a Colombian company that provides post-production and finalization services. It's also supported by Mediterranea Production, Italian distributor, and Palude Cinema, Colombian distributor.
      It's going to be submitted to the new Italian Tax Credit Benefits.
      The film will be shot during the summer of 2018.
