    • Synopsis
    • Day Zero can be a starting point or an end. We are at a turning point in history. We can save this planet for the future or are we can destroy our environment to gain more economic growth.

Through the eyes of people living close to nature we will be invited to experience the pristine nature that is at risk and get confronted with the question of how to balance our relationship with our environment. Are we part of a problem or part of a solution?

The series Day Zero is looking into portraying climate change in a different way - by immersing the viewer in nature’s bounty and by listening to stories told by local people. Filmmaker Nils Bökamp has identified unique spots around the world where nature’s pristine wilderness and beauty are threatened to be lost by the effects of climate change. By travelling to these unparalleled locations he reflects his thoughts through voice over and in interaction with the people he meets. He is not acting as a presenter but rather as a protagonist himself. His voice is the leading medium and the focus is on the stories he is being told.
Nils’s driving force for Day Zero is to give climate change an emotional side that everyone of us can relate to and hopefully inspires us to reflect and act.
