Horror - Development 2025

Buenos Aires, December 31, 1969. The famous international playboy Ronnie Díaz gets together with his three best friends to celebrate New Year's Eve in an old house far from the city. Jealousy, envy, and old grudges take over during the evening, and Ronnie ends up murdering his friends and becomes Dandy, the most dangerous serial killer of the era. Dandy is a tribute to the classic suspense films of the 60s and the slasher horror films of the 70s. It would be a fusion between “The Rope” and “Halloween”.

    • Synopsis
    • The story begins in the present day. Three young filmmakers in their mid-twenties, two men and a woman, invade the grounds of an old farmhouse to shoot some footage for a true crime documentary they are making for their YouTube channel. In the story, fifty years ago, a famous playboy of the time, murdered his three best friends in that farmhouse, and since that night, he became a masked serial killer, whom the press called Dandy.

Once we have this information, we get into the story that took place on December 31, 1969. In this segment the film is in black and white and all the visual and sound treatment is that of a classic thriller. We meet Ronnie Diaz, the playboy in question, who is taken to the farmhouse by his three best friends: Miguel, Juanca and Alfonso. Once the four of them are in the middle of nowhere, a game of cat and mouse begins, until Ronnie discovers that his three friends have betrayed him, and cornered by the terminal syphilis he is suffering from, which among other ailments, can cause dementia, and also cornered by the big debts he has with everyone, Ronnie loses control and murders his three friends.

Desperate about what he has just done, Ronnie plans to hang himself from a rope. It is now the early morning of January 1, 1970. The rope gives way when Ronnie is about to die and he ends up saving himself. At that moment, four young people (two men and two women) arrive at the farmhouse, coming from dancing and wanting to continue celebrating the New Year.

In this segment the film is invaded with color, and we are in a 70s slasher horror film.

When the new characters arrive at the farmhouse, Ronnie hides in a tool shed next to the townhouse, realizes that his playboy days are over, and puts on an old cardboard carnival mask, and one by one, kills off the new characters. Except for Monica, an aspiring Pin Up Girl.

Monica is the final girl. The girl who survives.

At the end of the story, she and Ronnie fight face to face, an obsessive bond is established between the serial killer and the final girl, typical of horror's genre films. Monica runs over Ronnie and escapes. Ronnie gets to his feet, and begins to pursue her. He knows that someday he will find her.
