- Synopsis
- Dana, a charming and curious 10 year old girl, is scared she’s forgetting her mother’s face, whom she lost in a car accident 3 years ago. To keep her memory alive, Dana dreams of becoming a singer and making people happy… Regrettably Dana doesn’t have a musical ear at all, and her singing efforts are in vain. Consequently, she immerses herself in a fantasy world in which her mother is present, her reality is positive and she is a wonderful singer.
  After her mother’s death, and due to her dad’s business trip to Germany, she is sent to her grandfather, who lives in the kibbutz where Dana was born, but left it several years earlier with her parents.
  Dov, her grandfather, is a secluded, grumpy old man. Over the years he turned his work-shed into a hiding place where he escapes from reality and bad memories, while building marionettes dolls, just as his father taught him when he was growing up in the Netherlands. It is later discovered that his entire family perished in the Holocaust.
  Dana and Dov’s worlds collide as they are forced to spend the summer together in Dov’s kibbutz, and the beginning of their renewed relation is not an easy one. A childhood oath Dov made in his parents’ name obstructs them from growing closer. Only when their innermost secrets are revealed – they finally realize how similar they are. Gradually, they begin to open up and help one other to overcome past traumas, while perusing their biggest dreams…
