- Synopsis
- Latvia celebrates its freedom by demolishing a former Soviet army listening post which served as a symbolic avatar of past Soviet rule. Yet on the same day, the aide of a nationalist MP is found murdered in the MP's apartment. The deceased, Nata Nolle, was a very talented and capable worker, who influenced the choices made by the politicians of the new and restored Latvia. Realizing that the murder is political in nature, the seasoned higher-ups of the police hand the case to a rookie detective fresh to the force. The investigator quickly finds the trail of a burglar who was released from prison a month ago, and was spotted at the murder scene only to discover that the evidence pointing toward the burglar was planted. As he continues to investigate the case of Nata Nolle's murder, the young detective discovers ties to both a conspiracy on the national level as well as Nata Nolle's secret past with the KGB that goes decades into the past.
