- Synopsis
- When Tuva loses her parents in a car crash she is given the somber task of cleaning up their house. In a locked drawer in her father’s study Tuva finds some documents and discovers that she was adopted. The shocking revelation sets her out on a quest to find her biological parents. The only clue leads Tuva and her small daughter to a village in the middle of Sweden, where nobody will help her. But when Tuva's investigation bit for bit begins to uncover the truth, dark forces struggle to keep the secret about her background buried. As Tuva's childhood memories slowly start coming back, she begins to fantasize about her mother and becomes more and more detached from her own daughter. When Tuva finally realises the painful truth about her parents, her actions put her daughter in great danger and Tuva must fight to get her back. The love for her child finally becomes far more important for Tuva than her destructive obsession with the past.
