    • Synopsis
    • In Cornouaille, Brittany, land of dunes and the ocean, lives Martin, 25. A handsome young man, free-spirited and often alone in the open air, he knows better than anyone how to catch a mullet to grill. His only possession is an old Ford Taunus which takes him wherever his mood guides him. He has never held down a job for too long, and lives with very little in his father's run-down house, where all he does is sleep.
But recently, he has been seeing Gwen, a mysterious girl who lives alone in a mobile home, and swims every day in the open water, even in the coldest days of winter. Gwen, 28, is a pretty girl, zany, shy but at times harsh and jealously secret. She works in a fish canning factory, and is saving all she can to go to Mexico to take part in a competition in the high seas.
When Gwen becomes pregnant by Martin, she determinedly accepts this unexpected development, but she won't give up on her dream of leaving.
Martin, on the other hand, continues his life of odd jobs and petty theft, and seems to ignore that he will soon be a father. That is, until the day he is accused of murder. The arrival of the child reunites the couple, and the untameable Martin finds himself saved by the love of Gwen.
