- Synopsis
- Witold, a law student, decides to escape from the city in order to study for his exams. On his way he meets the young Fuchs, who was recently fired, and both want to see and live other things in the distant countryside. They land at the family pension of a retired couple, living with their beautiful daughter Lena and their maid. Witold is strangely attracted to Lena’s pure, virginal mouth and to the deformed hideous lips of the maid. He becomes obsessed with both girls, and is ultimately dragged towards a series of strange signs that tie to one another in a stifling atmosphere.
