    • Synopsis
    • Chocó is a 27-year-old black woman who is responsible for her children and her husband Everlides who only knows how to play the marimba, drink viche and play domino.
      Chocó is a hard worker and a fighter. Every morning she searches for gold in the San Juan River and every afternoon she does the laundry for other people so she can pay for her children’s education.
      It’s Candelaria’s birthday and for the first time Chocó promises her daughter she’ll get her a cake for her birthday. However, things get difficult as she tries to fulfill her promise, events that bring unexpected consequences for both Chocó and her family.
