    • Synopsis
    • Love is an essential ingredient in the recipe for a happy life, so when orphaned sisters Sal (Makenzie Vega) and Rae (Abigail Breslin, Little Miss Sunshine) find a puppy to love and a family that wants to adopt them both, it seems like the perfect beginning to the rest of their lives. Things become more complicated when the girls find out that their parents' apartment in New York doesn't allow dogs and their new father is allergic to animals. The girls sneak their Great Dane puppy Chestnut into their new home and thus begins a game of hide and seek that's sweet and funny. The girls manage to keep their ever-growing dog a secret for quite some time, but a wedding reception gone wrong blows Chestnut's cover and threatens to tear the family apart. Can two girls' love for their dog and a couple of bungling crooks somehow reconcile this newly-formed family's differences and strengthen the bond between them? This sweet movie from the producers of Air Bud features an adorable dog, two precious girls, and a heartwarming and sometimes sad story about family and the power of love.
