- Synopsis
- I've done many things in my life. I've been a game designer, illustrator, comic book artist, animator, produced animated films, directed and written comedies, performed stand-up, taught, played piano, been a sailor, pilot... I've been many things in my life... even a man. During the pandemic, I faced the question of my gender identity without being able to escape from myself, without any escape valves. Married, with children and a pregnant wife, the perfect storm formed. This process of self-discovery, painful for me and those around me, was recorded in a diary. If understanding trans was a difficult first step, it only opened a heavy door to an endless journey. The search for my true essence, which had been hidden for years and years of sedimented dormancy. "Procurando elA" is a deep internal dive into the search for the feminine during my gender transition. Investigating personal archives, through conversations with those who were part of the process and the interpretation of the diary that reported the doubt in accepting myself as a woman, I will unravel all the internal and external elements that led to the search for my gender identity. The project has 3 types of materials:
  
  - Informal interviews, conversations that take place during specific actions. Dinners, outings, car racing, hiking... WHO WILL YOU TALK TO - Age of daughters. The 4-year-old has always seen me as a woman. 3 exes.
  - Archive images - Old photos and images captured on different media. Super 8 films, Mini DVs, and cell phone videos. Interviews and appearances on TV shows and podcasts.
  - Animations - Developed by great friends of animation. Reinterpretations of lived moments based on my narration.
