    • Synopsis
    • The chameleon is a creature legendary for its ability to unrecognizably transform itself, reflecting its surroundings and emotions. When Goro briefly appears before Keiko, she imagines he is a chameleon. To Keiko, who leads a lonely life as a dubious fortune teller on the streets of Tokyo, Goro seems just like her.

In fact, Goro leads a group of con artists, some old enough to be his grandparents, who operate out of a former factory. Their specialty is wedding fraud. One day, after successfully tricking another would-be bride out of her wedding funds, the young con men witness a group of men kidnapping a middle-aged man in the hotel’s basement parking garage. Instinctively, Goro records the man struggling with his captors on his cell phone video camera.

After that incident, strange men begin shadowing Goro and his team. About that time, Goro sees a cabinet minister being questioned on TV about allegations of bribery. When the camera cuts to a photo of a missing witness that was supposed to testify, they recognize the middle-age man who was abducted in the hotel basement. Fearful that his buddies are in danger, Goro barges into the sedan that had been tailing them. He confronts Kijima, the man who runs the shadowy operation and swears his buddies to secrecy about what they saw, in exchange for their physical safety.

Meanwhile Kosuke, who works with Goro, becomes desperate for ready cash and tries to a cut a deal on his own, trying to deliver the incriminating images to a TV station. Then things quickly fall apart. Through the resulting media coverage, Kijima and his men learn of Goro’s apparent betrayal and systematically abduct his team. Slowly but surely, Kijima and his men close in on Goro and his newfound love, Keiko…
