    • Synopsis
    • Catherine’s Kindergarten truly captures all the raw emotions of losing a loved one, finding your true self, and defining the essence of what it means to be alive. Every scene pierces your heart and makes you feel like you’re going on this journey with Kaye. It’s an incredible example of human resilience and shows how you can become your own hero, battling with pain and grief and also shows how to get involved in a developing country like Nepal. It’s genuinely a film that knocks the wind right out of you with its beauty! As Oscar-winning director, Cynthia Wade, says: 99.9% of the population couldn’t pull this film off, it would fall into a rabbit hole of misery, but Catherine’s Kindergarten avoids all the traps of grief films. Kaye sparkles on screen and immediately earns our trust. She is an engaging narrator, giving us jalapeno-pepper moments which are indelibly visual and tactile but never distract. This is such a personal, yet universal story, and skillfully balances all the multi-cultural aspects of grief. Although I haven’t had my life turned upside down, I was so grateful to take this physical and emotional journey with Kaye.
