- Synopsis
- "Buddies" is a Road Movie that tackles the simple things of life in a poetic way through the eyes of three young Down syndrome arriers who work in the videoteque in the institute where they live as inmates.. One day, inspired by the movie “Thelma & Louise”, they decide to take their chances and run away in the gardener's old car in pursuit of their dreams: Stalone wants to see the sea, Aninha wants to get married and Márcio wants to fly. In their search, they trail unthought of ways and get involved in countless dangers as if everything was nothing more than an endless movie prank.
  Parallel to this poetic world, the three buddies' escapade attracts the attention of the police and the press that start to cover the news, retracing the travelers' route, through the clues they leave behind and through their witnesses' reports.
  Two investigators who happen to be under heavy supervision as punishment for their violent behavior in previous cases are assigned the task of finding the three buddies.
  The plot unravels in the midst of this counterpoint between our heroes' naiveness and the investigators' shrewdness, lending the story a humorous tone and building up, as the story develops, some sort of fondness from the police toward the fugitives who grow smarter and smarter than anyone could expect.
