- Synopsis
- Boys From County Hell follows Eugene Moffatt, a feckless yet likeable young tradesman, eking out a quiet existence in Six Mile Hill, a sleepy Irish backwater that’s seen better days. Indeed, its only claim to fame is that Bram Stoker once spent the night in the local pub, Eugene’s habitual stomping ground.
  
  Eugene dreams of one day upping sticks for Australia, that is when he’s not spending his time drinking pints with his best friend SP, trying to impress barmaid Claire or busting a gut working two bit construction jobs for his overbearing old man Francie, someone who values loyalty above all else.
  
  When Francie asks Eugene to be partner in the family business he reluctantly agrees and is put in charge or a ragtag group of construction workers building controversial new road development through the barren hills above town. Strange events unfold when Eugene and the boys disturb and ancient burial site believed to be the final resting place of Abhartach, a legendary Irish vampire and Stoker’s original inspiration for Dracula.
  
  When the boys come under attack from a hoard of vicious vampires they are forced to accept the myth is true. Eugene soon realises that to be his own man he must first battle for survival or risk having his hometown suck the life out of him in more ways than one.
