- A photographer named Stéphanie and her boyfriend Eric are spending their winter vacation in the Caribbean, where a pyromaniac serial killer has been terrorizing the highways of the Republic of Santiago. The morning before their departure, Eric learns that his real-estate company faces a major crisis that could force it into bankruptcy. Soon, however, we learn that Eric’s financial woes are the least of the couple’s problems.
  The morning after their arrival, driving along the National Highway, Eric and Stéphanie stop at a service station, where Stéphanie witnesses an altercation between the creepy driver of a black truck and a young woman who’s driving recklessly. Convinced that neither of them can see her, Stéphanie is compelled to take photos of the scene—she’s sure that she has just witnessed the killer interacting with his next victim. But once the crime has been committed, the madman sets off in pursuit of the two Quebecers, who soon discover that they are not nearly as safe as they thought…
