- Synopsis
- Xavier Alvarez (Cornillac) is a successful self-made man, his construction business is doing well but he still goes to extreme lengths to hide his humble origins. He meets Vincent Cluzel (Clavier), a deputy running for mayor. As the two men befriend, Cluzel decides to help Alvarez, secretly hoping a success could grant him public deals. Putting all his strengths – and money – in the race, he makes over the image of his protégé and puts pressure on his main opponent soon mixed up in a political-industrial scandal – leading Vincent to a surprise win over.
  But Xavier will soon learn that politics is no business like others and his victory will have a bitter taste.
