- Synopsis
- When the talented young scientist Nora travels to Brazil to research the cause behind a worldwide wave of uncanny hallucinations, she discovers an incredibly potent 'magic mushroom'. Used in cult rituals, it provides telephathy-like communication and a shared, collective consciousness. Nora is fascinated. Together with Gustavo, her contact at the Brazilian government, she dreams of a world where everyone is connected via a global web based on the fungus' powers. Could this 'Bionet' be the new and better Facebook? Her research becomes increasingly dangerous as money, politics, unreliable fungi-visions and love conflict with her plans. A wild ride through Brazilian favelas, science laboratories and psychedelic alternate realities.
