Israel 1973. Six years after the Six Day War, Menashe is still deeply traumatized by his experiences as a soldier. He withdraws from society and spends hours aimlessly driving around in his red pickup. His young wife Daphna and their 10-year old son Shlomi suffer under his silence and rejection. Daphna tries to get through to her husband and bring him back into the family. When the Yom Kippur War breaks out, Menashe has to go back into battle - and his life and family threaten to finally fall apart. A gripping story that goes back to the origins of medical treatment for a syndrome we now know as post-traumatic stress disorder and which has become part of the psychological canon.
