    • Synopsis
    • Giulia Tonelli, prima ballerina of the Zurich Opera, is coming to the end of her maternity leave. She wants to dance the lead role in the upcoming production, just 4 months after giving birth to her son Jacopo. From day one, she has the ambition to come back as a full pro athlete. It is not an easy task not only for her body, but also from the point of view of the old-fashioned rigid environment she is in. The glass ceiling is shattered. In a field where it is necessary to live, and to breathe only for art and for the stage, Giulia is now torn between her role as a mother and her choice of career and the sacrifices that seem imposed.
As she struggles to find her place in her world as a mother ballerina, she meets international choreographer Cathy Marston. A woman who is not only at the top of her career but also a mother, who will open Giulia's eyes to her many possibilities for the future. A life changing encounter for Giulia.
Giulia's journey will not only shake up the classical institution, and all those who work there; By wanting to change the status quo that persist, she will make all different levels of the institution deal with a problem rooted in tradition and patriarchy. A tradition that no longer reflects the society of nowadays. This journey will lead Giulia to be the heroine of her own story, especially through the COVID period which will, against all expectations, help Giulia find herself and establish herself as an artist in an astonishing way.
