    • Synopsis
    • La Salada is an informal fair of clothes and other products located in the Lomas de Zamora district, not far from the city of Buenos Aires. And it’s a very powerful economical factor: it moves tens of millions of dollars every month, it employs more than five thousand people, and even more people shop there every time it opens. Created by Bolivians in the early Nineties, the fair grew exponentially and today the Lomas de Zamora district has involved itself with the people of the fair in order to organize, regulate, and obtain profit. The organization, the setting in motion, the arrival of the shoppers, the manufacturing of the products, all has gigantic proportions. D’Angiolillo documents several areas of the fair’s inner workings, tracing a brief history of the place (another story of Argentine decadency), and shows mass displacements of people. With a great capacity for observation and a no less tenacity to film, the director makes an amazing trip into a fast-changing area of Argentine society.
