    • Synopsis
    • How could Alice Guy Blaché, a contemporary of Edison, the Lumières, and Méliès – who wrote, directed or produced a thousand films, including her first narrative film in 1896 by her own account, 150 films with synchronized sound, and who had a career longer than any of them, in France and in the U.S. – reach the heights of fame and financial success and then be forgotten by an industry she helped create? Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy-Blaché, a detective story/bio pic, rewrites film history by revealing for the first time the full story of Alice’s life and 20-year career. Her work includes comedies, westerns, dramas, dealing with child abuse, immigration, planned parenthood, and empowered women. She made the earliest known surviving narrative film with an all black cast.
