    • Synopsis
    • “Baseball Was There" is Four (4) Short Films woven together into a distinct yet interconnected Feature Film. Each short spans different wars and generations, all linked by a single cherished baseball passed down through a family of military service

“Play Ball”, set during WWII, follows Everett Jackson, who carries a baseball he caught in Game 5 of the 1943 World Series into battle as a comforting reminder of home. Through moments of camaraderie and loss, the baseball becomes a symbol of hope amidst the horrors of war.

“Touching Home”, set during the Vietnam War era, Everett's son, Steven Jackson, inherits the baseball as he navigates his own military service. Amidst the chaos of combat, the baseball serves as a tether to his past and a beacon of resilience amid adversity.

“Stitches That Bind” shifts to 2003, exploring the life of Steven's son, Timothy Jackson, a Navy surgeon serving in Afghanistan. The baseball emerges once more, this time uplifting troops and a young Afghan boy amid the harsh realities of conflict.

“The American Dream”, In 2008, Adriana Santos, a U.S. Army soldier and the daughter of immigrants who achieved U.S. citizenship, serves with gratitude for the opportunities her family found in America. When she discovers the cherished Jackson baseball in Afghanistan, she organizes a makeshift game with her fellow soldiers, finding inspiration in its legacy of unity and resilience.

Through these interconnected stories, "Baseball Was There" celebrates the universal power of sport to unite, inspire, and provide solace in the face of adversity, showcasing how a simple baseball can carry profound meaning across generations of military service.
