    • Synopsis
    • Barcelona, 1918. A handful of housewives
who in 1918 rebelled against an injustice, the
33% increase in the cost of coal, managed in
just a fortnight to turn that decision into an
unstoppable uprising by thousands of woman
who managed, by themselves, to get what they
were demanding: a reduction in the price of coal.
Never before in history had a handful of women
been able to bring down the power structure.
A revolution guided by a small group of illiterate
working women driven to desperation by the
rising price of coal. That spontaneous and
unusual rebellion defied Army, Police, Civil Government and even the CNT itself, who
tried unsuccessfully to direct the steps of
      these women.
Based on these real events lasting 15 days,
we are creating a plot in eight episodes
      featuring women and illustrating the
interests of traders and politicians, the
solidarity of the ‘escorts’, the cruelty
of police officer Bravo Portillo, the
indifference of the Civil Governor, the
‘secret’ life of wealthy men, and we’ll also
see the betrayal of women by women.
