Inspired by the true-life experiences of Dave Fishwick (Kinnear), Bank of Dave follows a self-made man who, through his generosity and relentless loyalty, helps his struggling town to not only survive, but to thrive by opening a local credit union. Despite the fact no new bank has received approval in 150 years, Dave and his skeptical lawyer Hugh (Fry) prepare to plead their case. Together with local activist Alexandra (Dynevor), they fight for the support of elitist financial institutions while Hugh realizes the working class people of Burnley deserve more respect than they are given by the archaic decision makers in London.
