The four novellas are connected by the place and time – a Donbas road during the war. The road is long, so we are driving along it and voluntarily stop near the food stall in a provincial front-line town, involuntarily – at the last but one before the front line checkpoint, forcedly - just at the field. The characters are Donbas residents and Ukrainian military men. They both are staying in the place voluntarily-forcedly. They perceive life fatally, the fatality being felt in their movements, glances, responses and deeds. All of them a doomed a little bit, thus they can afford breaking the rules, as tomorrow might never come.
