- Synopsis
- A female couple, Marianne and Karine, living in Paris, adopt Ruby, a young 10-year old girl from Pondicherry. Ruby is brought up in Paris and doesn’t integrate her adoptive family anymore. One of the two women is particularly frustrated by the situation; she can’t bear her daughter anymore. And so the two adoptive mothers decide to have Ruby discover her origins by taking her to Pondicherry for her 20th birthday. Having arrived in Pondicherry and walking down the road of Ruby’s orphanage, they meet Raghunath, a dance master. He teaches the classical dance of Bharata Natyam and the philosophy of Shiva to Ruby. Between rejection and fascination, thanks to art, and the reconnection to one's original roots, a reconciliation is emerging...An initiatory journey !
