    • Synopsis
    • This is a film that tells a story that is sadly common in the world: Violence against women and girls, and in this film in particular, the drugging and raping of a mother and her daughter. What seems preposterous and horrific is often commonplace, committed in the light of day underneath the radar of society that is asleep, or numb to these kinds of stories of injustice, which are real every day occurrences that contain people, who seem more like characters from ancient mythological tales. That is what inspired me to make this film, to help stop the violence against women and girls in the world by telling their story.

While walking down Madison Avenue in NYC, I met a woman, who told me a very tragic story. She said that her boyfriend had drugged and raped she and her daughter. I couldn't stop thinking about it long after our meeting, so I decided to make a short film about it. Since most rapes go unreported and women remain for the most part silent about it, I thought a silent film would be a good way to tell the story, only using visuals and music to communicate the interior emotional experience. I wanted to show the rapist's manipulative tactics and the resulting internal suffering of his victims. I was also moved by the #metoo movement with so many women breaking the silence and offering their stories to the world. I hope this film will be used as an educational tool and be part of the conversation towards more understanding around the issue of violence against women to help stop it.
