    • Synopsis
    • Shun Takahata (played by Sota Fukushi) is bored of his tedious high school life. But the appearance of a Daruma Doll at school puts an end to this when it tells that a game of life and death now begins….
      The First Game
The first game is "Daruma-san has Fallen" (a Japanese children's game similar to "Red Light Green Light") in which the players' are not ‘out’ if they move, but instead their heads are blown away. Shun becomes the only survivor in his class and escapes the classroom. He runs to the gym with his childhood friend Ichika Akimoto (age 16).
      The Second Game
At the gym, where other survivors had gathered, a giant Beckoning Cat appears. Shun and Ichika work together to shoot a basketball into the hoop attached to the collar of the Cat while dodging its blows. The one who ultimately succeeds in making the shot is Takeru Amaya (age 16), a brutal troublemaker who has no qualms to kill.
Meanwhile, media picks up on the simultaneous outbreaks of these games around the world, and the surviving students begin to be revered as "Children of God."
      The Third Game
When Shun regains consciousness, he finds himself in an empty room. There he is reunited with a classmate from junior high, Shoko Takase (age 16). This time the game is "Kagome Kagome" (a Japanese children’s game in which one child sits in the middle of a circle of his peers and with his eyes closed, must guess who is behind him when the circle of peers stops moving around.) and four Kokeshi Dolls appear. Racking his brain, Shun correctly guesses who is directly behind him, and goes to join Ichika and Takeru together with Shoko. They form a team of seven members to advance to the next stage.
      The Fourth Game
A Polar Bear in a snowfield makes them play a simple game where all seven players must answer questions truthfully, however, they are unable to win and Shoko falls victim. As he grieves, Shun realizes that it was the Polar Bear who had been lying all along.
      The Final (?) Game
In an ancient Russian castle, a Matryoshka Doll orders the five survivors to play a game of "Kick the Can." Takeru, who becomes "it," captures everyone except Shun. In order to save Ichika, Shun comes to a face-off with Takeru and aims for the can that will explode when kicked. But nobody dies when he kicks it. The game was truly a game this time. The Matryoshka Doll declares the end of the game and hands out popsicles as rewards to the survivors. Celebrating their survival, Shun asks Ichika out on a date, but she is decapitated right before his eyes. The popsicles were the actual final game, a raffle that tested the players' luck.
Shun and Takeru survive and are released. People laud them as Children of God, but Shun shouts, "There is no God!"
