    • Synopsis
    • Visibly beaten down by the loose turns his life has been taking, Daniel returns to his home town. Jobs are scarce, his ex-wife is constantly demanding an alimony he definitely can’t afford, and the overall perspectives are not encouraging. In this context, the preparations for his nephew’s baptism, where he will be the kid’s godfather, will provide him with a modest purpose, if only for a few days. At the same time, his oldest nephew Giovanni moves to his apartment, and there’s something in the boy’s lack of direction where they both seem to slowly recognize each other. In his debut film, Crespo depicts the main character’s sort of wandering life with an unusual capacity for observation as the film captures faces, dialogues (and silences), places –a construction site, a cemetery. And he does it with a sensibility that at time echoes Raúl Perrone’s finest urban film postcards, slowly building a portrait of how time passes by that goes from babies’ own open perspective of the future to the beaten-down expression of a man who returned home trying to stop so he can start over.
